Cocaine Godmother Griselda Blanco gunned down

Cocaine Godmother Griselda Blanco gunned down: Former drug lord and cocaine trade pioneer Griselda Blanco was shot dead on September 3rd in Medellin. She was shot by an assassin who was riding a motorcycle after which the Colombian police declared her dead. Blanco was 69 at the time of her death.

Griselda Blanco was walking out of a butcher shop in her hometown when two assassins on a motorcycle rode past her, shooting two bullets straight in her head. It is ironic that Griselda is the woman who invented the motorbike shooter killings – assassins who drove past innocent victims while spraying them with bullets. This is the death that many had already predicted for Griselda.

Retired Miami homicide detective Nelson Andreu told the media that he is shocked that Griselda wasn’t killed sooner. The cocaine godmother had made so many enemies throughout her life that she could be dropped dead by anyone at any time. Griselda had killed and hurt many people throughout her dark career.

Griselda Blanco was put behind bars for serious drug trafficking charges and three murders in the United States. She was also convicted of brutally murdering a two year old boy from Miami in 1982. In 2004 she was sent to her Colombia hometown; ever since she had kept a very low profile, keeping herself away from all trouble.

Also known as The Godmother or The Black Widow, Griselda Blanco was born in Colombia on February 15, 1943. She was a hostile girl from a very young age and became a pickpocket at the tender age of fourteen. She ran away from home and became a prostitute; later she married Carlos Trujillo and gave birth to three sons. Her fourth son was fathered by Dario Sepulveda and sarcastically named after the Godfather character Michael Corleone.

Her older son and Dario were all killed by the time her youngest son reached adulthood. She spent ten years in prison until she was bailed out.
