Daniel Craig Photos and Bio: Daniel Craig is an English movie star best known for his portrayal as the protagonist of the recent James Bond films (since 2006). Ever since Craig replaced Pierce Brosnan as the British secret agent in the famous film series, he has received critical acclaim and popularity.

He was born as Daniel Wroughton Craig on March 2^nd, 1968 to mother Carol Olivia and father Timothy John Wroughton Craig. He grew up on the Wirral Peninsula with his parents. Craig was always interested in acting, and started acting in school plays at the young age of six.

At the age of sixteen, he moved to London to take part in the National Youth Theatre. Daniel Craig studied under the talented supervision of Colin McCormack at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; he graduated from that institute in 1991.

In 2001, Daniel starred as Lara Croft’s (played by Angelina Jolie) love interest in the 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie. Later he starred in movies like Road to Perdition (2002), Sword of Honor (2001), Sylvia (2003) and Steven Spielberg’s 2005 venture Munich.

In 2005, he was approached by Eon Productions to star as the new face of James Bond in the Bond movie series. In 2006 he appeared as James Bond in his first Bond movie titled Casino Royale – it was the highest grossing Bond film to date, making over 594,239,066 US dollars worldwide. In November 2008 the second Bond film starring Daniel Craig was released; The Quantum of Solace was equally explosive at the box office. It is reported that Craig has signed multiple other Bond films as well, including Bond 25.

In 2012, the much awaited James Bond film Skyfall will release, starring Craig, Naomie Harris and others. The soundtrack of the film, performed by Adele, is already a big hit.

Daniel Craig is married to actress Rachel Weisz – the couple got married in a very private ceremony with only four to five people in attendance.
