Facebook Skype Integration: Facebook disappointed the last 60,000 or so people who watched the live stream of what was dubbed the most anticipated and amazing event, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s comments last week. With all the rumors about a Facebook App for iPad, mobile and Web applications, a better interface to chat with Skype video calls, was definitely not impressive.

Mark Zuckerberg, not exactly known for amazing public speaking skills, did not help himself by imposing on the public table after table on the growth of Facebook and stories about the nerdy Moore’s Law and folding a sheet of paper fifty times.

However, reading between the lines, Zuckerberg revealed a lot about his thinking, and thinking about Facebook-status social networks today, in particular. One of the most exposing is when Zuckerberg confirmed that Facebook has reached over 750 million daily active users. Almost immediately after he said that, he dismissed the statistics well enough, saying: “We do not believe that this is the metric to watch right now.”

Achieving this kind of event is nothing short of outstanding, however very few pieces of software, or products in general, can boast of this dimension of the user database. Facebook should not be starting to downplay its size just as it becomes a sheer epic masterpiece.
