According to officials, the worst post-tornado conditions are at the south of the city in Moore, where winds travelling at over 200 mph were recorded.

According to the US President Barack Obama, Oklahoma is in a state of major disaster. Search authorities have been working since the storm to save lives, and President Obama has now ordered federal authorities to join in. Teams have been searching through the rubble throughout the night after the storm.

Moore is a suburb of Oklahoma of about 55,000 people and the catastrophic twister hit it at around 20:01 GMT. The Oklahoma tornado is reported to have stayed for a staggering 45 minutes.

A total of 91 bodies have been found until now, and according to Oklahoma chief medical examiner’s office, 20 of them are children.

Oklahoma’s Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb told the media that the Plaza Towers Elementary School was hit directly by the twister, and the building was completely flattened. He said that the walls of the school were ‘pancaked in’.

Bodies of children have also been found from the Plaza Towers Elementary School. The nightmare of parents and families continues as more bodies are being uncovered, and over two dozen children still remain missing.

Another school damaged by the tornado was Briarwood Elementary School – the teachers and administration of the school was successful in leading the children to a safer place.

According to Todd Lamb, the city of Oklahoma was prepared for a natural disaster, but they were certainly not expecting a disaster at this level.

Friends and family of Travis Alexander went through yet another painful and traumatic few minutes as the prosecutor Juan Martinez briefed the jury about the exact nature and event of the 30 year old man’s killing in his home. Martinez said that Travis saw himself been stabbed in his bathroom mirror, and saw the blade coming through his throat. Pictures of Travis’ body found on the crime scene were also displayed in the courtroom.

The 37 year old actress writes in the article that she learnt she was the carrier of the faulty BRCA1 gene that makes her chances of developing breast cancer rise to 87 per cent. Jolie says that she saw her mother fighting cancer for almost a decade and then die at the age of 56 – her children ask her if the same could happen to her, and Jolie wants to live a long and healthy life to be there for them. The main reason that steered her to the decision was her six children, who will need her for many years to come.

Angeline Jolie states that she wanted to write about this private process so it helps other women. She wanted to convey that getting double mastectomy was a very difficult decision but she was glad that she made it. After the procedure was complete, her chances of developing breast cancer dropped down to merely 5 per cent.

Mother’s Day is one of the most anticipated holidays of the year, and it was celebrated around the world on the 12^th of May this year. For New Orleans, the auspicious holiday turned into a black day when unknown shooters opened fire at the New Orleans Mothers Day parade.

According to the law and order authorities, the real cause behind the shooting is still unknown. The police have narrowed down a few suspects of the New Orleans shooting who were seen fleeing from the crime scene.

A report said that nine of the injured people have been moved to the University Hospital in New Orleans. Out of these, eight victims were injured by gunshots, and one victim got badly injured during the incident.

The exact location of the incident is reported to be the intersection of Frenchmen and Villere streets. The Mother’s Day parade was being attended by an estimated 200 to 300 people.

The shooting took place at the second line part of the parade i.e. when the people dance in streets in a loose procession as a brass band plays in the lead. The procession was in the company of about 10 NOPD officers, who had noticed three suspicious men fleeing from the place. The authorities are searching for those suspects, who have been described as young men. No arrests have been made in this case till now.
