Hulk Hogan and Bubba Clem Lawsuit Settlement
Hulk Hogan and Bubba Clem Lawsuit Settlement: Pro wrestler Hulk Hogan has settled the sex tape lawsuit with former best friend and radio jockey Bubba Clem. According to a report, the details of the lawsuit are still unknown and are intended to remain undisclosed. On the other hand, Hulk Hogan has not yet settled the legal issue with Gawker.com.
59 year old Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Gene Bollea) had filed two lawsuits after a sex tape starring him and Heather Clem was leaked on the internet. The lawsuits were filed against Heather’s ex husband Bubba Clem, who leaked the video online, and against Gawker, the website that hosted the sex tape online.
Although Gawker only hosted a minute long footage of the originally 30 minute long video, it was responsible for bringing the Hulk Hogan scandal to life. The civil lawsuit worth $100 million against the owner of Gawker still remains unsettled.
Earlier in the month Hulk Hogan filed the lawsuit with a statement that said the wrestler had bedded Bubba’s then wife Heather consensually; however he had no knowledge that the act was being filmed. The video was taped at Heather Clem’s home six years back, and Bubba’s voice can also be overheard in the video footage. It was evident that the act was taped secretly using an overhead security camera.
One of the conditions of the settlement between Hogan and Bubba was that the latter should publicly apologize for his act. It was reported that Bubba Clem read out a statement of apology on his radio show. He said that Hulk Hogan was not aware of the video recording device placed in his and his wife’s bedroom, and he has never been involved in any attempt to release the video.
Hogan also admitted that the tape was recorded at the time when he was married to Linda – however he cheated on his wife because she was giving him a difficult time.
