iOS 6 Released Today, Download and Upgrade Your iPhone Now! After the bomb of the iPhone 5 launch, Apple has come up with a new release to maintain its popularity in the smart phone market. Even though there is time until the new iPhone releases, the newest iOS is already in the market – the iOS 6 releases today. The next generation iPhone operating system will be available for download very shortly.

According to reports the release time for the iOS 6 is 10 am PST/1 pm EST today. It will be available for downloading and installation via the internet. This happening new operating system and smart phone environment can be installed on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, and fourth generation of the iPod touch.

This is great news for Apple fans as they will not be able to get hold of their new iPhones by this Friday. The iOS 6 was announced in a news conference by Apple Inc at the World Wide Developer’s Conference. Until now the new iOS was available only for the developers.

This is the first time that Apple users will be able to upgrade the iOS over the air. Plugging in the Apple device to a computer will not be necessary; however this is possible only if you are currently working on the iOS 5. Also, Apple users will need the new iTunes, i.e. the 10.7 version in order to upgrade the iOS.

There can be a few risks involved when you are upgrading your Apple device for a new operating system. Always charge the device and keep it on full battery before upgrading. If the device shuts down while upgrading, there could be a serious disaster. Also keep in mind that you must back up all your personal data before upgrading to a new operating system; anytime during the process you may lose important data from your phone/iPad/iPod.
