Jael Strauss’ Meth Addiction: a Model’s Dream Shattered: The vibrant and cheery finalist of America’s Next Top Model season eight, Jael Strauss is not in a good place. The former model is losing terribly in a methamphetamine addiction battle for the past six years. She will be appearing on Thursday’s Dr. Phil episode where an intervention is planned for her.

Jael was a beautiful and vivacious model at ANTM cycle eight, but now she is worn out by meth. 28 year old Strauss was recently seen in a few leaked photos in which she looks unrecognizable, worn out, old and wrinkled. Jael’s descent as a person and a model is heart wrenching.

Jael was due to appear on Dr. Phil with her own personal consent. However, as she entered the studios with an escort she changed her mind and went back running. Later Dr. Phil followed her with cameras to the Paramount studio parking lot and spoke to her.

Jael had lost a friend to drug overdose during the ANTM cycle days. Her loss kept her sad and disturbed for many weeks, after which she was eliminated at the sixth spot. Back in those days Jael told everyone that even though her friend is gone, she will live her life to the fullest. However according to her family that was the turning point in her life, and Jael was never the same person again.

ANTM Cycle 8 winner Caridee English voiced her opinion since the news regarding Jael broke out. Caridee fired comments at ANTM producer and leading lady Tyra Banks. She said that the panel of judges did not evaluate Jael on basis of talent; they just wanted sheer and strong personalities to highlight the reality TV show. She also added that Tyra Banks’ show does not give the models that ‘boost’ when they go out in the real modeling world. The fashion industry does not know how to market instant television celebrities, she said.
