She made her movie debut with the film North in 1994, and has continued to work in many others till date. Scarlett Johansson has won many awards including the coveted BAFTA Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. In total, Johansson has won over ten awards for her film performances.

She was born on November 22, 1984 in New York City to parents Melanie Sloan and Karsten Johansson. The actress had film related genes that she had inherited from her screenwriter and director paternal grandfather. Her mother was also a producer; Scarlett’s sister is an actress as well.

Johansson grew up in an average household and her parents worked hard to make ends meet. In 2002, Scarlett Johansson received professional training for acting from the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan city.

She made her acting debut at the tender age of nine, and continued acting as a child actress. In 1996, she played Amanda in the film Manny & Lo at the age of eleven; the film got her raving reviews and a nomination for Best Lead Female at the Independent Spirit Awards. Manny & Lo paved way for Johansson’s career and critics added that she would grow to become a promising actress.

In 2003, Scarlett Johansson made the transition in adulthood by acting in two films; she appeared in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, which won her the BAFTA Award and garnered the coveted Golden Globe nomination.

Scarlett Johansson is given the title of the World’s Sexiest Woman by many magazines, publications and media sources including Playboy. Scarlett is very private about her life and rarely shares anything with the media.
